Exposition Until November 19, Homo and Natura in the university library of ARRAS
Travel in the heart of the contemporary art Its glance challenges
you, its eyes fix you where that you place yourselves, on his left
where on its line. What recalls étrangement a work celebrates
exposed with the museum of the Louvre. The Dancer of Amandine Pillon
does not cease brewing air, constantly gives the impression to be
moving. Born from the union of a plaster and floating wood assembly
recovered on the beaches, the work of the red-headed artist symbolizes
the fastening of the ground to the sky. The Dancer is one of the 23
pieces exposed atthe university library by 23 students of the school
of art of Arras.
"We all are the children of the universe, not less than the trees
and the stars", a quotation drawn from a medieval anonymous work
caused inspiration.
The project was born from a meeting between associations, ETAP (Student
in tourism and patrimonial action) and Nectart. The whole financed
by the cultural service of the university of Artois. The contemporary
art is plunged here in a universe of writings. In the medium of literary
works, sociological or economic, the stained glasses, the mosaics
in relief, the wood sculptures or stones find their place. The marriage
of metal and glass, Plain-glass of Adeline Rincent, takes as a starting
point Vélasquez. The work of Samir Sfaxi, a man squatted defecating,
is a just reward to the sources. Samir Sfaxi makes reappear the relation
between the life and death. Just like the Bean of Gilles Pirot and
his three seeds of color, symbol of creation. The plant is a dugout
which evokes the passage of the life to death. The artist is talented.
He is in the line of (large) creative.
Very attached to wood and his values, Damien Dupuis wished to put
forward the suffering of wood, following the storm of the century,
at the end of 1999. One feels, on four faces meurtris, the cry of
the forest. It is enough to close the eyes to hear them. In search
of authenticity, the artist deliberately left the constraints, nodes
and breaks. One of the heads is struck in its flesh by a metal cylinder.
It recalls that the trees lay down under the force of the wind, and
that the pylons with high voltage are some times cut down on them.
Double suffering.
Homo naturus gives freedom to young creators in the search of themselves.
A rich exposure of individualities. To see.
